
Ideye ends goal drought
Super Eagles forward, Brown Ideye, came off the bench to grab a point for West Bromwich Albion in their 2-2 draw against Burnley in the English Premier League on Sunday.
Club record signing, Ideye, came on for Chris Baird in the 46th minute to score the Baggies second goal in the 67th minute to end his goal drought at the club.
The hosts had taken the lead in the 11th minute through an Ashley Barnes header and had doubled the lead in the 32nd minute through Daniel Ings before Chris Brunt also headed home in the 45th minute to bring the visitors back into the game.
After receiving a booking 18 minutes after coming on, Ideye, rose highest to head home Brunt's cross from a corner 23 minutes from time.
The former Dynamo Kiev striker took to twitter immediately after the match.
"Difficult game today but we thank God we came back strong, great job from all the lads," Ideye tweeted.
Sunday's goal was his second in the league for the club. He had scored his first in the 3-1 loss to Manchester City on December 26, 2014.
Ideye's compatriot, Victor Anichebe, who started the match, was substituted in the 18th minute for Saido Berahino as he got injured.
In the English League Two, Adebayo Akinfenwa, grabbed a brace for his side AFC Wimbledon as they emerged 2-0 winners over Newport County on Saturday.
The bulky forward scored in the 11th and 71st minute to move his club to 12th in the log.
Also Jude Ighalo scored his 12th goal of the season for Watford in their 1-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers in the English Championship on Saturday. Ighalo's goal came in the 83rd minute.
Eagles' defender, Kenneth Omeruo, was also on for the entire duration of Middlesbrough's 3-1 win over Charlton Athletic on Saturday. Omeruo has made 16 appearances for the club in the league this season.
