JEGA TO BE REPLACED BY MIMIKO’S BROTHER

Following the postponement of the general election, the plot to sack the Chairman of the Independent Nation Electoral Commission, prof Attahiru jega is on the increase side.
As we all know that Jega’s tenure will end on June 30, some political party especially Peoples Democratic Party has planned to give him terminal leave prior March 28 the scheduled time for general election.
According to punch newspaper on Monday, it is glaring that the ‘sins’ include alleged transfer of some INEC officials considered to be close to them out of their departments where their input might not be useful in the conduct of the election and also, Jega is becoming dogged and unapproachable.
A source that remains anonymous said ‘PDP is set to replace JEGA with the brother of current Ondo state governor, prof. femi Mimiko. According to him, he said it is real that President Jonathan is tired and not comfortable with the administration of Jega and is ready to replace him before it is too late.
He said, ‘The way Jega spoke at the press briefing where he announced the postponement of the polls was meant to implicate PDP and the presidency. This is the reason why everybody including foreign allies has been blaming the leadership of the election.’
A reliable military officer told the punch in Abuja that they were surprised to hear Jega blame the poll postponement on the unpreparedness of the military. He said the postponement should never be shifted on them because they are always set to carry out their security assignment at any point in time.
