Defenseless man beaten to pulp by police officers

IGP Suleman Abba
Another case of police brutality has been reported in Lagos where a man was beaten to a pulp by some police officers at a bank in Lekki.
The case of police brutality on innocent Nigerians is growing at an alarming rate and it seems the Nigeria Police Force is doing practically nothing to stem the tide.
The latest of such attacks allegedly took place on March 11, 2015, in front of a new generation bank in Lekki Phase 1 area of Lagos where a video recording of an act of brutality is currently going viral on social media.
The sickening video showed two mobile police officers attached to the bank, descending in an harmless man and beating him to a pulp.
In the video, the man was brutalized and dehumanized by the same men who are supposed to make sure of his safety.
By standers who could do nothing to help the poor man, said by the time the officers decided that they had had enough, the man was already in a state of comatose and no one could tell if he survived the attack or not.
Recall how in November, 2014, a police officer identified as Dada Ogunsanya, took the law into his hands he brutalized a couple, Ejeh Smith, and his wife, Grace, at the Lekki Roundabout along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, for 'daring' to tell him not to point the light from his torch on their faces during a stop and search operation.
That case seems to have been swept under the carpet as the police authority has exonerated the officer while the victims have been severally molested, arrested and locked up.
