Even If Shakau Swears Allegiance To Satan, It Won’t Save Him From His Inevitable End


 Boko Haram, whose name translates as Western Education is sin has been battling Nigerian security forces for years, waginng a campaign of terror aimed at instituting its own sharia law. But in the last few weeks, Boko Haram has come under intense military offensive from Nigerian and African multinational force. The sect’s leader Shekau has now sworn allegiance to ISIS with a the hoping that this partnership will strengthen Boko Haram. 


On March 7, Saturday, the airwaves were awash with news that Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau had pledged his allegiance to militant fighting for the Islamic state of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). In the purported audio released on twitter, Shekau said Boko Haram was announcing its allegiance to the Caliph of ISIS leader, AbuBakr al Bagdadi. He offered ISIS support promising that Boko Haram will hear and obey in times of difficulty and prosperity.
ISIS has welcomed Boko Haram’s pledge of allegiance, a spokesman for the Islamic State movement on Thursday, March 12, said Boko Haram’s pledge of allegiance to ISIS has been accepted, boasting that the caliphate has now expanded to West Africa.
Following Shekau’s cheap stunt, the international media has been sounding the alarm, drawing conclusions on how Boko Haram’s allegiance with ISIS possess grave consequences for Nigeria and Africa. Most of them have left out details of Nigerian army’s recent victories against the sect, choosing to give attention to a dying man rather than look at things from the logical point of view.
Boko Harm’s desperate attempt to align with ISIS comes as troops from Niger and Chad launch a major offensive that comprise of ground and air raids against the sect. The soldiers have crossed the border into Nigeria with about 200 vehicles carrying reinforcements according to AP.
