Delivering a congratulatory message to Muhammadu Buhari, the president-elect, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin also noted that the two countries faced “similar dangers and challenges” associated with terrorism.
Therefore, Rivlin vows to assist Nigeria in the fight against terrorism, corruption and in boosting the agricultural sector.

“I assure you that in this important campaign, Israel stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Nigeria.
“I wish you every success in the challenging task ahead and trust that under your presidency, the relations of friendship and cooperation between Nigeria and Israel will continue to expand and strengthen.
“Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
In response to the message, Buhari expressed appreciation of his colleague’s warm gesture and promised to cooperate with all countries to their mutual benefits.
After emerging winner at the March 28 presidential election, Buhari has received congratulations from all over the world, including US, France and UK, among others. The global community has praised the Nigerian authorities for the democratic conduct of the polls and commended Incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan for humbly conceding defeat.
